Euryth C. (Von Holten) Vickrey

WALNUT – Euryth C. Vickrey, age 88, died Monday, March 4, 2024 at Allure of Walnut.

Euryth was born on September 24, 1935 in Harmon the daughter of Otto and Margaret (Whyte) Von Holten.  She married Louis Vickrey on August 15, 1954 in Rock Falls. Euryth was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church of Ohio.  She was an active member of the church and ladies circle.

She is survived by her husband, Louie of Walnut; three daughters, Rhonda (Lonny) Peach of Walnut, Renee Hartz of Sheffield and Rita (Scott) Nation of Gays; one son Lou Vickrey of Walnut; one sister, Marge (Maynard) Parker of Walnut; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Jake, Molly, Stella, Ruthie, Bill, Kathleen, and Danny; and thirteen great grandchildren, Bradyn, Mia, Kenzie, Kelsey, Mary Kate, Jace, Shae, Josie, Sophie, Liam, Malachi, Eliana, and Kennedy.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-law, Art Hartz and William Moderau; three sisters, Marie, Ellen “Boots”, and Betty Ann; and seven brothers, Leo, James, John, Richard, Eugene, Robert, and Don.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.  Funeral services will be Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Ohio.   Burial will follow at Walnut Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
